Team Elite Marshals’ Cup 3: Elite Force ushered in the last trimester of the 2013 race season as it commenced last Sunday, placing emphasis on the signature gear setting of the premier Central team, the torque-heavy 5:1. Racers though got the feel of how it was during the heydays of complex racing, as, surprisingly; the track layout favored those of the speedsters of lore! Alas, the hyper 2’s and the X/XX’s and the 3.5’s were unleashed! Dizzying twists and turns essentially killed momentum on at every critical point of the track , bringing out the beast mode out of every mini-machine that ran! Everyone seemed to welcome the taste of speed! However in the end, three sultans lorded over today’s m4wd tech speed demons!
3.5 innovator Jockster Lorenzo capitalized on the speed and stability of his feared Astute TZX en route to the first place finish! Besting a field comprising of close to a thousand registered entries, there was no stopping this hpCORE big gun as he ran roughshod over each and every racer he faced. On the other hand, settling as the second-best man that evening was today’s winningest racer Hajji Ocampo. Hajji looked good all throughout, poised for another championship finish. With a dominating run on each of the heats, Hajji just didn’t have as much luck as the champion at the Finals, running off-track and not being able to finish the course. The other sorry story that night was Jun Navarro. Clocking the best time at the semifinal stage, the eRacer overlooked the danger of having the fastest car in the finals and spun off-track at the very first crucial obstacle. He had to settle for the bronze.
The evening’s special prize went to TM admin and LURC founder Alexander “Rion” Adan – the farthest reaching 5:1 user! The motor he used? The 19,900 rotation-per-minute delivering 16 g/cm of torque Power Dash motor! One can now just imagine how fast the average running speed was on that race!
All in all, team Elite and the marshals of TM served what was to be a race that will not be forgotten for a while. Everyone had fun! The need for speed was whetted! The question now hangs – will we see a trend on upcoming concept races? If so, then better make those minis sturdier, the wings stiffer, and the motors stronger! Who knows, we might be witnessing the rebirth of complex racing! \m/
