And so it was concluded. The final leg of 2013’s premier league – Pilipinas Mini 4WD Championships – rolled last Sunday at HPRC. It proved as a pivotal race for those with 2013 Top Ten racer aspirations. Points leader Hajji Ocampo has abstained from participating for this leg to give other hopefuls a greater chance at cracking the top ten. Thus so went the competition that was as tight as it can ever be. Every racer in attendance put their m4wd skills in full use to keep up. It was then or never for most of the hopefuls.
One racer went home all smiles. Allan Pagaduan of team LURC cemented his spot on the top ten with an awesome 1-3 finish! Accomplishing the feat for him are twin Avante Purple Special units. Leaving the rest of the pack to eat dust was his HyperDash2-powered Avante, followed closely by its TorqueTuned powered counterpart. Running third was a new face at the PM4C podium – Paul Liangco (Cavite-Fleet). Giving him his second TM Race Finals appearance in two consecutive weeks is his vaunted Tiger Zap unit.
The last leg broke some aspirants’ hearts, especially those from the top 11-20 tier who had their last chance to break out. Nothing to fret though. Fortunately there is the 2014 season yet to unfold. With some realignments happening within some of the teams, the coming season is looking to be a far more competitive one than 2013. And of course there is still the Tamiya Manila Festival to look forward to, happening this January 26. Beyond that, there is so much in store for mini 4wd fanatics this side of town. New and exciting concept races from member teams, the resurrection of soft speed racing led Cusco Productions and TamiyaManila, and a proposed change in race day schedule – all this as we close out a strong 2013 season. There is no stopping the addiction! Keep posted for the latest updates!
Happy racing everyone! \m/
